Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Rental Diesel Technician to service a variety of Ziegler owned rental equipment at our Columbus location. Hours are Monday to Friday, 1pm to 10pm.

Starting wage ranges from $27.00 to $45.00 per hour, with variability by skills and location. In addition to competitive pay, full-time roles include benefits such as health/dental/vision, PTO, holidays, 401(k) with match, HSA, disability insurance, parental leave, and more.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field or High school diploma/GED plus 2 years’ experience.
• 2+ years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience preferred.
• Knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust and fuel systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, CUVs and other light/medium equipment.
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work safely at all times, following company policies and standards.
• Collaborate with other technicians on troubleshooting and repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and product knowledge.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, CUVs, among other light and medium construction equipment
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience
• 2+ years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust systems, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test

• Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
• Lift bulky objects
• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.
• Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
