Job summary

Ziegler Caterpillar in Bloomington, MN is hiring a Diesel Technician to service Caterpillar heavy construction equipment. 2nd shift hours: 12 Noon - 10:30 pm, Mon - Thurs (4 x 10's).

Diagnose and repair CAT equipment, document work orders, and follow safety policies while collaborating with the team. Competitive benefits include health, PTO, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or high school diploma/GED and 2 years of shop experience.
• 2+ years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, electrical and fuel systems; Caterpillar experience a plus.
• Able to write and communicate effectively with supervisors, customers and team members.
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and use online diagnostic systems.
• Own mechanic tool set.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Safety sensitive role; must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant's location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs Caterpillar equipment including compactors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment, compact equipment, aerial equipment and paving equipment
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanicexperience
• 2+ years of relevantdiesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
