Job summary

Ziegler CAT is hiring a Rental Diesel Technician in Columbus to service a range of Ziegler-owned rental equipment and other brands. Hours are 6:30am-3pm, Monday-Friday, with full-time benefits eligibility including insurance, PTO, holidays, 401(k) and more.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment, maintaining complete work orders, and collaborating with teammates on repairs while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field or equivalent
• 2+ years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience preferred
• Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust and fuel systems

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, CUVs and other light/medium construction gear
• Document work orders in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction
• Work safely following company policies and standards
• Collaborate with technicians on troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to grow skills and product knowledge

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Rental Diesel Technician to work on a variety of Ziegler owned rental compact construction equipment and a variety of non-CAT rental equipment at our Columbus location. Hours: 6:30am-3pm, Monday-Friday.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant's location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, CUV's, among other light and medium construction equipment
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge

Qualifications:

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanicexperience
• 2+ years of relevantdiesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust systems, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test

Minimum physical requirements:

• Push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
• Lift bulky objects
• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping - able to use bolt box.
• Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
