Job summary

Sammons Warehouse Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician II (Heavy Line) to diagnose, repair, and rebuild heavy equipment at customer sites. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and safety-compliant servicing to minimize downtime and maintain peak performance.

You’ll document service work, manage parts, and uphold Safety-First practices while delivering excellent customer support. Experience with material handling systems and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, along with 3+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment, heavy equipment, diesel-powered machinery, or related equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with precision measuring instruments and technical repair procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a commitment to professionalism and quality workmanship.
• Valid driver’s license required; welding experience, trade school education, technician certifications, and product-line certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, failure analysis, and necessary welding or fabrication work to keep equipment operating to manufacturer specifications.
• Complete service documentation accurately, maintain parts inventory, and ensure company vehicles and work areas remain organized, clean, and safe.
• Follow all company safety standards, OSHA and DOT regulations, participate in ongoing technical training, and support a strong Safety-First culture.
