Job summary

Sammons Industrial is seeking a skilled field service/maintenance technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment. You will work on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and related systems, performing inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Applicants should have at least 3 years of hands-on repair experience, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and may be preferred with trade school training or technician

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; valid driver's license; 3+ years of experience repairing designated equipment or related industry.
• Mechanical or trade school training and technician certification are preferred.
• Furnish your own tools; ability to stand, walk, lift up to 75 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild material handling equipment and major components including engines, transmissions, drive axles, hydraulics, brakes, steering, electrical systems, motors, and lifting systems.
• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, failure analysis, basic welding, and other repairs to keep equipment operating safely and per manufacturer specifications.
• Prioritize safety by proper blocking, chocking, chaining, and following all company, DOT, OSHA, and applicable regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild material handling equipment and major components, including engines, transmissions, drive axles, hydraulics, brakes, steering, electrical systems, electric motors, and lifting systems.
• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, failure analysis, basic welding, and other repairs to keep equipment operating safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
• Put safety first on every job by properly blocking, chocking, chaining, and disassembling equipment and following all company, DOT, OSHA, and applicable regulatory requirements.

What You'll Bring

• A high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and 3+ years of experience repairing designated equipment or working in a related industry; mechanical or trade school training and technician certification are preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, and troubleshooting skills, along with certification on at least 65% of the designated product line.
• A dependable, customer-first attitude and clear communication skills, plus the ability to perform frequent standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and bending, lift up to 75 pounds, and furnish your own tools.
