Job summary

Sammons Industrial is seeking a Service Technician I (Heavy Line) to diagnose, repair, and maintain material handling equipment in our shop and at customer sites. This on-site role supports a legacy company with a long history of safety and service excellence.

You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and documentation while adhering to DOT/OSHA safety standards. A valid license and hands-on tools are required, with trade/tech certs preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and 1+ years of equipment repair or related experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; certification on at least 50% of the designated product line.
• Excellent communication and customer service with a safety-first mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day.
• Must furnish your own tools; trade-school/tech cert preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and rebuild engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, steering, lifting systems, and other components.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and basic welding as needed.
• Follow safety practices and maintain a clean, safe work environment per DOT/OSHA standards.
• Complete repair documentation and manage parts and supplies; participate in required trainings.
