Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Technician 2 Temp Control-Shop based in Santa Fe Springs, CA. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors, both in the shop and at customer sites as needed.

You will troubleshoot equipment, work independently or with a team, and base out of our Santa Fe Springs service center. The role offers full-time employment with overtime potential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED mandatory.
• 7+ years experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, and reading schematics.
• May need TWIC card or valid DOT medical card depending on customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Based out of the Santa Fe Springs, CA service center.

What You’ll Do

• You’ll be based out of our Santa Fe Springs, CA service center.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop.
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with other technician(s) to set up and operate equipment in the shop.

You Are

• High School diploma/GED
• 7+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

Other Essential Job Requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
