Job summary

Aggreko in Santa Fe Springs, CA is seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs of HVAC equipment, power generators, diesel engines, and related systems at the Santa Fe Springs service center and on customer sites. You’ll work full-time with potential overtime and weekends, supported by an annual bonus program and a premium medical plan option.

The role requires 5+ years of HVAC experience, the ability to read schematics, and a valid driver’s license;

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working on commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card based on customer requirements.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

What You’ll Do

• You’ll be based out of our Santa Fe Springs, CA. service center.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations and handle the repairs.
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with other technician(s) to set up and operate equipment on customer sites.

You Are

• High School diploma/GED
• 5+ years of experience working on commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver’s license

Other Essential Job Requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devicesl
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
