Job summary

Aggreko in Smyrna, TN is seeking a Shop Technician 2 - Power to maintain and repair diesel generators, natural gas generators, HVAC equipment, chillers and oil-free air compressors at the Smyrna service center.

You’ll work overtime and weekends, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot failures at the shop, and support safety-focused training and career growth with brand-new technology.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years' experience with diesel power generators and/or HVAC equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Based out of Smyrna, TN service center and often required to work overtime/weekends.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of generators, HVAC gear, chillers and oil-free air systems.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be based out of ourSmyrna, TN.service center.
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, Chillers, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED
• 3+years of experience working ondiesel power/natural gas generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, chillers, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Availability to work the assignedschedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be onstandbyfor work outside of regularly scheduledshifts
• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladder
