Job summary

Aggreko, LLC seeks a Technician 1 Power Rotation based in Odessa, TX. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel generators and electrical equipment, with field travel in a company vehicle.

Based out of Midland, TX/Carlsbad, NM service center, you may work overtime and weekends and could travel as needed. This role requires lifting up to 75 lbs, valid license, and ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent + 4+ years on Cummins diesel power/natural gas gens, mechanics or electricians.
• Experience reading schematics and calculating nominal/effective tonnage or kW.
• May require TWIC card or DOT medical card depending on customer.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and have valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Based in Odessa, TX; work in the field with local travel daily in company vehicle.
• Overtime and weekend work opportunities with potential travel.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators and electrical equipment.
• Commissioning of canopy generators and containerized generators.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at shop and customer locations; handle repairs.
• Work solo or with another technician to set up and operate equipment at sites.

Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Technician 1 Power Rotation based in Odessa, TX. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil free air without end. We keep our customers' worlds on. What you’ll do:

• You’ll be based out of our Midland, TX/Carlsband, NM service center and can expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment
• Commissioning of multiple canopy generators, single containerized generator
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites

You are:

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience 4+ years of experience working on Cummins diesel power/natural gas generators, mechanics or electricians and/or commercial, performing inspections, maintenance, and repair
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license

Other essential job requirements:

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
