Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Technician 1 Power Rotation based in Odessa, TX. You will be based at the Midland, TX/Carlsband, NM service center and travel to customer sites in your company vehicle to perform maintenance on generators and related equipment.

The role involves overtime/weekend work, equipment troubleshooting, and potential for travel. A high school diploma and 4+ years of Cummins diesel generator experience are required, with a valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of experience working on Cummins diesel generators or related power systems.
• Ability to read schematics and interpret electrical/mechanical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment.
• Commission canopy generators and single containerized generator sets.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations and perform repairs.
• Work independently or with another technician to set up and operate equipment at customer sites.
• Travel locally and work overtime or weekends as needed.

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Technician 1 Power Rotation based in Odessa, TX.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be based out of our Midland, TX/Carlsband, NM service center and can expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment
• Commissioning of multiple canopy generators, single containerized generator
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites

You are:

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of experience working on Cummins diesel power/natural gas generators, mechanics or electricians and/or commercial, performing inspections, maintenance, and repair
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license

• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
