Job summary

Aggreko, LLC in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Technician 1 to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on power generators, HVAC systems, chillers and related equipment. The role involves traveling daily in a company vehicle to customer sites and working overtime as needed.

You will troubleshoot faults, read electrical schematics, and participate in technical training programs. A high school diploma or GED and 2+ years hands-on experience are required, with a valid driver’s license and ability

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience with diesel/natural gas generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, chillers, including inspections, maintenance and repairs
• Able to read electrical schematics and interpret nominal vs. effective tonnage or kW requirements
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required DOT-related credentials as needed

What you’ll do as Technician 1:

• Based out of our Cleveland, OH service center, traveling daily to customer sites in a company vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, electrical distribution equipment, chillers, HVAC systems, and oil-free air compressors
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer sites, diagnosing and executing repairs
• Set up and operate equipment independently or alongside fellow technicians, both in the shop and on customer sites
• Work overtime and weekends as needed, with potential for travel to support customer operations

You are:

• High School diploma or GED; 2+ years of hands-on experience on diesel/natural gas generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, chillers, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Able to calculate nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, and confident reading and interpreting electrical schematics
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card based on customer requirements
• Physically able to move or lift objects typically under 75 lbs

Other essential job requirements:

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders; Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
