Job summary

Aggreko in Odessa, TX is seeking a Technician 2 Power Rotation to support field service and outages. You will be based at the Midland, TX service center with daily local travel in a company vehicle, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators and related equipment across customer sites.

The role requires 4+ years on Cummins diesel power equipment, reading schematics, and potentially obtaining TWIC or DOT medical cards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of experience working on Cummins diesel power/natural gas generators, mechanics or electricians.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, reading schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment.
• Commissioning of canopy and containerized generators.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at shop and customer sites; perform repairs.
• Work in shop or at customer sites solo or with a team to set up and operate equipment.

Technician 2 Power Rotation

What You’ll Do

• You’ll be based out of our Midland, TX service center and can expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment
• Commissioning of multiple canopy generators, single containerized generator
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites

You Are

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of experience working on Cummins diesel power/natural gas generators, mechanics or electricians and/or commercial, performing inspections, maintenance, and repair
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license

Other Essential Job Requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
