Job summary

Paradise Valley Unified School District is seeking a full-time Technician to support day-to-day school operations and instructional environments. You will install, maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, perform routine inspections, and coordinate repairs with vendors or district staff.

You will document done work, monitor equipment performance, and uphold safety and district policies to ensure classrooms remain conducive to learning.

Role Description

The Technician is a full-time role supporting day-to-day school operations and instructional environments. Responsibilities may include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment or technology; performing routine inspections; and ensuring classrooms and facilities are prepared for learning activities. The Technician may assist staff with basic technical issues, coordinate with vendors or district personnel for repairs, and follow safety and compliance procedures. This role requires accurate documentation of work performed, proactive monitoring of equipment performance, and clear communication with educators and administrators to minimize disruptions to teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• Technical and maintenance skills in HVAC, plumbing, and electical in a school setting and involves troubleshooting, equipment repair and installation and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to follow established procedures, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a busy educational environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with educators, administrators, and support staff.
• Attention to detail and reliability in documenting work, tracking issues, and maintaining organized records.
• Commitment to student safety and adherence to district policies, including confidentiality and professionalism.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or prior experience in a school or public-sector environment are preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Jackson, MS, including occasional lifting, moving equipment, and standing or walking for extended periods.
