Job summary

Transdev in Allentown, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of Chevrolet and Ford cutaway buses. You will ensure safety and reliability for our drivers and the community daily.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair engine and related components.
  • Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
  • Assist senior mechanics on diagnostics and repairs.
  • Lead and conduct diagnostic tests and implement repair strategies.
  • Mentor junior technicians and support training.
  • PMs at the Carbon County location 2 days a week.

Maintenance Technician

Transdev in Allentown, PA is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our team! In this role, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of Chevrolet and Ford cutaway buses. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring our vehicles remain safe, reliable, and ready to serve our drivers and community each day.

Competitive Pay:

$26.00 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
  • Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
  • Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge
  • PMs at the Carbon County Location 2 days a week.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 3+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic.
  • ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
  • Mechanic’s Tool Set.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Must be able to complete DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
