Overview
Transdev in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an experienced C‑Level Automotive Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various transit vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our transit vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform transit vehicle maintenance in compliance with company standards
- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine repairs on transit vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs
- Complete preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual inspections
- Read and interpret safety documents, blue‑prints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams
- Coach and monitor team members
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Automotive maintenance experience
- Appropriate ASE certifications (ASE certification program provided)
- Mechanic’s tool set
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
- Excellent communication skills
- Diesel mechanic experience
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 applies
- Must have CDL Class A/B with passenger endorsement
Physical Requirements
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions. 100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on possible sloped ground or uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 100 pounds; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally; bend, kneel, or crouch to reach equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
