Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team, supporting the manufacturing of the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk program for the U.S. Air Force. You will act as local SME for technical writing and guide inspectors across shifts, delivering high-quality documentation and processes.

You'll develop and maintain best practices, prepare NCRs, inspection plans, FAIs, MRB dispositions, and ensure compliance with ISO/AS requirements while collaborating across a global team.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM required or 3 years in manufacturing quality.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operations required.
• Ability to articulate technical product/process requirements for electro-mechanical assembly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; collaborative problem solving.
• Willingness to work extended hours when needed; self-driven with global team reach.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and guide inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain best practices for technical writing across the organization.
• Prepare NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
• Ensure compliance with customer/industry quality requirements.
• Support high-quality products delivered on schedule.
