Job summary

Creative G C is seeking a Technical Writer for a 12-month contract, onsite at the DSS Data Center in Brooklyn (505 Clermont Ave, 3rd Floor) or other NYC DSS locations.

The role requires a minimum of 4 years of enterprise IT writing experience, including BOMs, system architecture docs, runbooks, and networking knowledge.

ITIL familiarity and strong stakeholder communication are essential, with proficiency in MS Office, Visio, Confluence or SharePoint.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of enterprise IT technical writing experience.
• Experience producing BOMs and system architecture documents.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (IP, ports, protocols, firewalls).
• Experience with security accreditation and compliance documentation.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and governance.

Title: Technical Writer

Location: Onsite at DSS/ITS Data Center located at 505 Clermont Ave, 3rd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11238 or alternate DSS locations within the five boroughs of the New York City area, as determined by DSS.

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Required Skills

A minimum of 4 years of experience with the following skill sets:

• Technical writing within enterprise IT or infrastructure environments
• Strong understanding of multi-environment architecture (DEV, QA, PROD)
• Proven experience preparing BOMs, system architecture documentation, and operational runbooks
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts (IP addressing, ports, protocols, firewalls)
• Experience with security accreditation and compliance documentation
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise governance frameworks
• Proficiency in MS Office, Visio (or similar diagramming tools), and documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint)
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills
