Job summary

NW Natural in Sherwood, Oregon, is seeking a Technical Trainer 2 or 3 (Construction Emphasis) to develop and deliver training for Field Operations, Construction, Customer Field Services, and related workgroups. The role focuses on safety, productivity, and compliance while improving training methods.

You will design curricula, create training materials, conduct classroom and on-the-job instruction, and use the Learning Management System to track progress and assess outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3 years NW Natural field ops experience for Level 2; 5+ years for Level 3
• Advanced knowledge of Field Operations Manual and applicable codes
• Excellent verbal communication and one-on-one coaching
• Strong presentation and training delivery skills
• Ability to collaborate across teams and departments
• Ability to document training plans and maintain records

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains training curriculum and materials
• Conducts classroom, remote, and on-the-job training
• Designs assessments to evaluate trainee performance
• Uses LMS to track completion and results
• Provides feedback and coaching to field employees
• Maintains operating manuals and updates training content
• Travels within territory to conduct training as needed
• Supports QA and OQ programs
