Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a hands-on Technical Support Technician to support critical data center infrastructure across facilities in various stages. The role is contract-to-hire, offering a clear path to a permanent position for the right person.

Day to day, you'll be moving and installing enterprise hardware, running and patching fiber and copper cabling, and troubleshooting technical issues to keep the site running around the clock.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year in a technical role such as hardware repair, cabling, or data center operations.
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and work under supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for regional travel.
  • A safety-first mindset with ownership and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Move, install, and implement large enterprise hardware in the data center.
  • Install and patch fiber and copper cabling between equipment; support rack installations.
  • Identify, research, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues; document progress.
  • Respond to technical support requests and follow established procedures.
  • Ensure safety and security standards during cabling and rack work.
  • Safely use material handling tools and equipment.
  • Participate in a 24/7 support model, including after-hours rotation as needed.
  • Travel within and outside the regional work area as required.

A leading operator of large-scale data centers is seeking a hands-on Technical Support Technician to support its critical infrastructure across facilities in various operational stages. What You'll Do
  • Move, install, and implement large enterprise hardware and equipment within the data center environment.
  • Install and patch fiber and copper cabling between equipment, and support rack installations.
  • Identify, research, troubleshoot, and resolve technical hardware and infrastructure issues; document, track, and monitor problems through to timely resolution.
  • Respond to requests for technical support across the site and follow well-established hardware installation and break-fix procedures.
  • Ensure proper safety and security standards are maintained throughout all cabling and rack installation work.
  • Safely use material handling tools and equipment.
  • Participate in a 24/7 support model, including primary responder rotation and after-hours support as needed.
  • Travel within and outside the regional work area as required.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in a technical or vocational role such as computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations (or a similar field).
  • Ability to follow pre-established guidelines and procedures and work effectively under supervision.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for regional travel (company transportation is not provided).
  • A safety-first mindset with a sense of ownership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
  • Industry-standard certifications such as CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7, including primary responder rotation and after-hours support as needed.
  • Comfortable working in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments.
  • Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
