Job summary

Allego, a Boston-area SaaS leader, is seeking a Technical Solutions Consultant to bridge presales, data architecture, and onboarding delivery. You will translate business requirements into scalable data structures and timelines using Excel and modeling techniques within the Allego platform.

You will partner with clients to design, validate, and build production-ready solutions and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and CS to ensure a smooth handoff post-launch.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in a hybrid Technical Solutions Consultant, Implementation Architect, Data Analyst, or Technical SE role within a fast-paced SaaS company.
• Deep experience with data modeling, advanced Excel, and translating complex data into platform models.
• Experience building, configuring, and maintaining SaaS platform back-ends and administrative suites.
• Strong communication to explain data models and platform logic to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Analytics/IS or equivalent technical experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate UI/UX and reporting needs into scalable back-end data models.
• Configure and deliver platform data structures, user hierarchies, workflows, and permissions.

• Build PoCs and pilot environments to demonstrate platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and CS to collect feedback and hand off post-launch.

Summary/Purpose

As a Technical Solutions Consultant, you will bridge the gap between technical presales engineering, data architecture, and hands‑on customer onboarding delivery. Combining the discovery and solution design of a Sales Engineer with the structured delivery and governance of a Customer Success Manager, you will serve as the technical engine driving customer value.

In this role, you will partner directly with clients to translate business requirements into scalable data structures and timelines, using Excel and data modeling techniques to design, validate, and build production‑ready solutions directly within the Allego platform. You are a logical thinker, data practitioner, and consultative partner who thrives on turning complex user layer requirements into scalable, sustainable platform architectures.

What You Will Do

• Technical Discovery & Scope Definition: Partner with customers to conduct technical discovery, gather requirements, and establish clear project schedules, timelines, and technical deliverables for platform deployments.
• Excel & Data Modeling: Analyze client data inputs, build multi‑variable data models in Excel, and architect robust data structures to map complex customer environments into the platform efficiently.
• Presentation-to-Model Translation: Translate customer presentation‑layer requirements (UI/UX preferences, reporting dashboards, and front‑end workflow expectations) into scalable back‑end platform data models.
• Hands‑on Platform Configuration & Delivery: Work directly inside the Allego platform to execute and build data structures, user hierarchies, custom portal configurations, automated workflows, and permissions systems.
• Scalable Solution Architecture: Design and deploy platform configurations that solve immediate client requirements while ensuring long‑term scalability, performance, and ease of maintenance across platform updates.
• Integrations & Technical Governance: Support data ingestion, API mapping, and SSO/security configurations while serving as the main technical contact during client onboarding.
• Proof‑of‑Concept & Pilot Builds: Build custom environments and data prototypes during presales-to-post‑sales transitions to demonstrate advanced platform capabilities and data visualization.
• Cross‑Functional Enablement: Partner with Product, Engineering, and CS teams to provide client feedback, resolve platform technical blockers, and deliver structured handoff documentation for post‑launch autonomy.

Experience You Will Bring

• Experience: 3-5+ years in a hybrid Technical Solutions Consultant, Implementation Architect, Data Analyst, or Technical SE role within a fast‑paced SaaS company.
• Data Modeling & Advanced Excel: Deep experience modeling complex datasets in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data structuring, dynamic arrays) and translating flat data into relational platform models.
• Architecture & Scalability Focus: Proven ability to look at front‑end presentation requirements and reverse‑engineer them into scalable data structures and platform configurations.
• Hands‑on Platform Administration: Demonstrated experience directly building, configuring, and maintaining SaaS platform back‑ends and administrative suites.
• Project & Timeline Management: Proven ability to manage technical deployment timelines, establish scope boundaries, and guide customer stakeholders through structured onboarding lifecycles.
• Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with relational database concepts, schema design, APIs, JSON/CSV data transformation, SSO/SAML, and cloud security frameworks.
• Client Advisory: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex data models and platform logic to non‑technical executive stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience required.
• Tools: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets, Salesforce.com, relational databases/SQL (a plus), postman/API testing tools, and PM tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Jira).

Compensation

$118,000 - $160,000 base salary + equity
