Reporting To

Operations Development Manager, Ports SE

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standards and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. You will provide technical support, act as a specialist, and solve problems within your expertise. You will communicate proactively with customers and ABB sales teams to understand customer needs and leverage business opportunities for service growth. The Ports Technical Support Engineer (SE) plans and executes complex technical field assignments involving installation, modification, testing, inspection, or repair of products and equipment, often coordinating with other groups to meet customer commitments. As the primary interface with customer operations, you may also recommend operational improvements. This role is remote-based.

Division and Accountability

This position contributes to the Process Automation, Marine and Ports Division. Key responsibilities include:

1. Providing technical support and troubleshooting remotely or on-site across Service categories.
2. Developing and marketing new Service offerings tailored to customer requirements.
3. Offering technical consulting to management and clients.
4. Identifying new sales opportunities and communicating with customers and sales teams to foster service growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred but not required.
• At least 5 years of experience with drives and PLC/process control systems.
• Familiarity with motors and medium-voltage power distribution.
• Experience in port/container crane environments is preferred.
