Our client, a major U.S. airline, is looking for a Technical Scrum Lead to join their Regional Operations Technology team, which supports custom development, mostly backend integrations, and data work for the airline’s regional operation. It’s a 1-year contract, hybrid in Fort Worth, TX, onsite 3 days a week. The team supports about 30 applications, many of them critical to daily flight operations, and has no dedicated Scrum Lead, so developers have been covering Scrum duties on top of their development work. This person will take that work off the developers, manage priorities and developer assignments alongside leadership and Technical Leads, build Agile process automation using enterprise AI tools such as automated user story generation, and lead the migration of all repositories from Azure DevOps (ADO) to GitHub. We’re looking for a technical Scrum Lead with hands-on ADO experience and a track record of building Agile workflow automation, which is the key differentiator for this role. Experience that is mostly ceremony facilitation, project or program management, or business analysis without technical depth is not a fit. This person needs to assess the team’s current processes on their own and make practical improvements with limited direction. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.
Take over Scrum responsibilities currently handled by developers Manage priorities across a portfolio of about 30 applications, many of them operationally critical Prioritize, assign, and track developer work in partnership with leadership and Technical Leads Build Agile process automation using approved enterprise AI tools, including automated user story creation Assess current Agile processes and tooling and implement practical efficiency improvements Lead the migration of all repositories from Azure DevOps (ADO) to GitHub Remove administrative roadblocks so developers can focus on building and supporting applications Run Agile ceremonies only where they add value to the team Document processes in Markdown according to enterprise documentation standards Partner with Product Managers across other Regional IT teams Provide progress updates to leadership
5+ years of experience in Scrum Lead, Scrum Master, or Agile delivery roles on technical teams Hands-on experience building Agile framework or workflow automation Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), including boards, backlogs, and work item management Experience with GitHub Working knowledge of Git, including repositories, branching, and versioning Experience writing documentation in Markdown Technical background with a strong understanding of developer workflows Strong communication skills with both technical teams and leadership Located in or willing to relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and work onsite 3 days a week
Prior software development or DevOps experience Experience using AI tools to automate Agile processes, such as user story generation Experience migrating repositories or work tracking from Azure DevOps to GitHub Experience with Aha! Experience supporting backend integration or data engineering teams Experience working with offshore or distributed teams Experience in the airline or travel industry
Practical and results-oriented, focused on efficiency over process for its own sake Works independently with limited direction Able to assess a team’s current state and build improvements from scratch Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift often Proactive about removing roadblocks for developers Communicates clearly with engineers and leadership
Location: Hybrid in Fort Worth, TX, onsite 3 days a week Schedule: 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday Laptop provided 1-year contract
Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $32.00 and $47.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
