Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to drive regional growth in the Raleigh area. This role partners with engineering and commercial teams to translate customer needs into technically sound solutions, prepare proposals, and guide opportunities from inquiry through order handoff.

You will build lasting customer relationships, support pricing discussions, and learn to balance customer priorities with business objectives while delivering quality orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or related field.
• Sales experience or customer-facing commercial experience preferred.
• Interest in building technical acumen with industrial equipment and power transmission is a plus.
• Ability to ask good questions, learn technical concepts, and support solution development with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support regional growth by expanding customer engagement and delivering quality orders.
• Assist in qualification, technical review, proposal development, and order handoff.
• Translate customer needs into clear, technically sound solutions with guidance.
• Develop customer proposals that communicate value and technical fit.
• Collaborate with engineering, commercial operations, and leadership for deal review and risk awareness.
• Support terms, pricing, and scope discussions while balancing customer needs and business objectives.
• Coordinate input from subject matter experts to answer technical questions for customers.
• Maintain accurate opportunity updates and support pipeline visibility.
