Technical Sales Specialist, East Region

This position reports to: Sales Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be planning, presenting, and helping to manage new and current ABB Analytics opportunities for our Continuous Gas Analyzer & CEMS business in the US. The ideal candidate will be technically sound, experienced in CGA and CEMS, well-spoken, and driven to succeed in meeting and exceeding our customer's needs.

The work model for the role is remote. #LI-Remote.
Relocation assistance not eligible for this position.

This role contributes to the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics division. You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. Identify potential projects and present ABB CGA and CEMS Solutions that are fit-for-purpose for our customers. Drive and support our Channel Partners, work with our territory and regional salespeople, and directly drive our business.
  2. Grow ABB's CGA & CEMS business in conjunction with ABB's go-to-market strategy. The Sales Specialist is the front line of offering and executing ABB solutions. Candidate must be technical, well-spoken, and driven to succeed.
  3. Monitor market trends and recommend adjustments for strategy and plans accordingly to meet changing market and competitive landscapes. Provide market information for decision-making.
  4. Communicate the end user value proposition for Analytics (internally and externally). Support local Sales organization to enhance perception in Analytics. Create and implement communication, promotion, and training activities.
  5. Achieve key targets (volume, price, and mix) for Analytics in the East Region. Develop and follow detailed business plans.
  6. Identify and prioritize major CGA & CEMS accounts. Include account management with local and global account managers.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Follow up on performance, communicate deficiencies or opportunities.
  8. Work closely with the Sales organization to identify and capture future business. Drive end user/third-party agreements and help negotiate complex legal and commercial contracts.
  9. Identify and manage potential risks related to contracts and pricing across segments.
  10. Report by segment to measure progress and identify future opportunities.

Qualifications for the role
  • Associates Degree in technology with 5 years' experience in instrumentation, either as a customer, salesperson, technician, or project manager.
  • Solid understanding of Analytics including GC's, FTIR, Tunable Diode Lasers, CGA, and CWA. Working knowledge of instrumentation is an asset.
  • Leverage existing industry relationships to bring new opportunities to ABB.
  • Ability to design solutions tailored to customer needs while driving ABB products into solutions.
  • Focus on end users, understanding their wants, needs, goals, and how they buy and maintain equipment.
  • Ability to develop relationships at all levels within ABB, channel partners, and customers.
  • Up to 50% domestic travel required; international travel once per year for training.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary varies based on qualifications and experience, this position pays between $92,500 and $171,500 annually and is eligible for our Sales Incentive Plan and Motus Car Program. More info at myBenefitsABB.com
