Technical Sales Specialist - CGA, GC & FTIR (East Region)

Reporting To: Sales Team Lead

Your Role and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be planning, presenting, and managing new and current ABB Analytics opportunities for our Continuous Gas Analyzer & CEMS business in the US. The ideal candidate will be technically sound, experienced in CGA and CEMS, well-spoken, and driven to succeed in meeting and exceeding customer needs.

The work model for this role is remote. #LI-Remote.

This role contributes to the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics division.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. Identifying potential projects and presenting ABB CGA and CEMS solutions that are fit-for-purpose for our customers. You will drive and support channel partners, work with regional sales teams, and directly drive business growth.
  2. Growing ABB's CGA & CEMS business aligned with the company's go-to-market strategy. As the front line of offering and executing ABB solutions, you must be technical, articulate, and motivated.
  3. Monitoring market trends and recommending strategic adjustments to meet evolving market and competitive landscapes, providing market insights for decision-making.
  4. Communicating the value proposition of Analytics internally and externally, supporting local sales with effective perception, and leading communication, promotion, and training activities.
  5. Achieving key targets (volume, price, mix) for Analytics in the East Region through detailed business planning and regular follow-up.
  6. Identifying and prioritizing major CGA & CEMS accounts, including account management across regions and globally.
  7. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, following up on performance, and communicating opportunities or deficiencies to relevant Business Units.
  8. Collaborating with sales teams to identify and secure future business, including end-user and third-party agreements, and negotiating complex legal and commercial contracts.
  9. Managing potential risks related to contracts and pricing across segments.
  10. Reporting by segment to measure progress and utilizing tools to identify future opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in technology with 5+ years' experience in instrumentation, including roles as a customer, salesperson, technician, or project manager.
  • Strong understanding of Analytics (GCs, FTIR, Tunable Diode Lasers, CGA, CWA) and working knowledge of instrumentation.
  • Existing industry relationships to generate new opportunities.
  • Ability to design customer-specific solutions integrating ABB products.
  • Customer-focused, understanding their needs, goals, and buying behaviors.
  • Relationship development skills at all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically, with occasional international travel for training.
  • Legal work authorization for employment in the US required.
