Job description

The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for creating a market for and driving sales of performance fertilizer products within an assigned sales territory. This role manages the market creation process to meet established goals, long-term strategies, and regional business plans related to performance products.

Where will you work: The territory includes Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. Preference is for this role to be based in Kansas.

What will you do?

  1. Develop and execute an annual sales and marketing plan for Performance Products within the territory.
  2. Evaluate growth opportunities and manage customer selective distribution strategies by region.
  3. Coordinate marketing efforts with customers to achieve business goals for Performance Products.
  4. Collaborate with account managers, product line teams, agronomy, marketing, and other departments to determine the go-to-market strategy.
  5. Develop accurate customer forecasts leading to timely signing of Performance Product and ex-space agreements.
  6. Create and communicate a value proposition based on customer segmentation, market trends, testimonials, and local results.
  7. Provide day-to-day customer training on product knowledge, positioning, portfolio alignment, agronomic positioning, and value proposition.
  8. Organize and participate in promotional and technical field days, customer events, and conferences, supporting promotional material development.
  9. Work with account managers to analyze competing products, manage budgets, forecasts, and share customer data with the sales team.
  10. Collaborate with Mosaic Biosciences to identify and expand biological product sales within the territory.
  11. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

What do you need for this role?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Business Management, Agronomy, or related field.
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification from the American Society of Agronomy.
  • At least 3 years of sales and marketing experience.
  • 3-5 years of agronomy experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Mosaic is a pay-for-performance company. The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $145,000. Total compensation depends on performance and contributions.
