Technical Sales Engineer - Cutting Tools Minneapolis Metro Area

Seco Tools is seeking a results-oriented Regional/Territory Technical Sales Professional for the Minneapolis Metro Area to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in technical sales, with expertise in the cutting tools market. As a Regional/Territory Sales Professional, you will represent Seco Tools and its comprehensive metal cutting solutions to a diverse clientele across various sectors, including automotive, power generation, oil & gas, mold & die, construction, agriculture, and firearms.

Location: Ideal at or near Minneapolis, MN.

Territory Sales Professional / Technical Sales Engineer Role Requirements

This is a regional territory sales role requiring 5-7 years of proven successful experience in territory or regional sales within a technical, consultative, solution-oriented environment. Candidates should have experience working independently from a home or virtual office, with strong technical aptitude in manufacturing settings where product application solutions are essential for both distributor and end-user clients across multiple market segments.

Key skills include qualifying, demonstrating, and influencing customers effectively. The role involves 50-60% travel within the Minneapolis Metro Area to manage territory requirements, engage with customers, develop new business, and support existing accounts through distributor channel partners.

Primary Responsibilities
  • End User Account Management & New Business Development (60%): Develop new end-user customers and maintain existing accounts to ensure retention and growth.
  • Distributor Channel Management (25%): Optimize sales with distribution partners through joint calls, lead sharing, and technical support.
  • Administration (15%): Territory planning, sales activities, and reporting.
