Job Title: Freelance Technical Recruiter (Contingent Search)

Location: Remote (U.S. preferred)

Type: Freelance / Contract

Compensation: Contingent fee-based per successful hire

About the Role

We’re looking for a freelance technical recruiter with 2–5 years of experience to partner with us on active and upcoming searches. This is a contingent, success-based role—you’ll be compensated per placement made, with competitive commission rates and the freedom to own your workflow.

This role is ideal for a recruiter looking to work independently, set their own hours, and contribute to fast-moving searches in high-growth startups and AI/tech companies.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (e.g., software engineering, machine learning, infrastructure)
• Partner with hiring teams to understand role requirements and ideal candidate profiles
• Source candidates using creative outbound strategies (LinkedIn, GitHub, referrals, etc.)
• Conduct screens and qualify technical candidates for skill, culture fit, and motivation
• Coordinate interviews and serve as a trusted liaison between candidate and client
• Maintain accurate records of candidate progress and status across searches

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in technical recruiting (agency or in-house)
• Proven ability to make placements in high-bar engineering environments
• Strong sourcing skills across platforms like LinkedIn, GitHub, and niche tech communities
• Clear communication skills and a professional demeanor with clients and candidates
• Ability to work independently, manage time, and drive a search to completion
• Bonus: Prior experience working on contingent or freelance recruiting engagements
