Job summary

Rainforest is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to bring payments products to life within a Rails-based engineering team. You will define and prioritize features that embed payments into client SaaS platforms, with autonomy to shape the payment infrastructure that handles billions in transactions.

You will collaborate with product leadership and engineers to craft clear requirements, manage the backlog, and drive releases at scale in a cloud-based environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with payment processing and PayFac, including the card lifecycle concepts.
• 5+ years as Product Owner or similar role.
• Strong technical background for cloud-based SaaS payments products.
• Understanding of roadmaps, vision, strategy, and market research.
• Proven ability to gather requirements, create docs, and user stories in Agile.
• Ability to visualize and prototype stories and feature sets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and analytical thinker.
• Experience with agile deployment and release strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of product initiatives and releases by defining goals, requirements, and constraints.
• Translate product strategy into well-defined functional and technical requirements for engineering.
• Participate in Rails engineering team meetings and deliver product to production at scale.
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog.
• Build strong collaboration with product, engineering, and stakeholders.
• Work with vendors to ensure accurate and maintained integrations.
