Job summary

Carman Solutions Group in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Technical Manager (physical Design) to lead the physical design flow for high-performance SoCs on 5nm/3nm nodes. This full-time role requires 10+ years of experience and hands-on leadership in timing closure, floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, and power/clock distribution.

Responsibilities include driving design closure, collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and advancing UPF-based low-power design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Knowledge of RTL2GDSII flow and design tape-outs in 5nm or below process technologies.
• Experience with EDA tools like DC/Genus, Innovus, PrimeTime, Calibre, or RedHawk/Voltus.
• Hands-on experience in SoC floor planning, place & route, power and clock distribution, and timing convergence of high-frequency designs.
• Knowledge of geometry/process/device technology implications on physical design.
• 10+ years of interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration experience.
• Programming/scripting skills: TCL, Python, Perl or Shell.

• 10+ years of experience in interpersonal, teamwork, and demonstrated experience communicating and interfacing with cross-functional teams, IP, and EDA vendors.
• Programming/scripting skills: TCL, Python, Perl or Shell.
