The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Technical Manager to join the Walbridge team. In this role, you will act as the technical expert for a specific discipline to ensure all related construction activities are performed in accordance with accepted professional standards. You will work to solve complex technical field-related problems, manage equipment startup, and oversee the commissioning process (V-Start). You’ll assist in implementing the project’s 4-phase quality control plan and monitor field construction of mechanical and/or electrical subcontractors for schedule management and conformance to contract documents.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

• Develop critical path schedules for MEP, coordinate with subcontractors and design teams to resolve conflicts
• Manage procurement process, track deliveries, assist with bidding mechanical and electrical trades
• Manage startup and pretesting of systems, coordinate quality control and third-party commissioning
• Coordinate and track construction, review mechanical and electrical submittals

Qualifications

To qualify, you must have:

• A 4-year engineering degree or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical/mechanical disciplines
• Leadership and scheduling capabilities for MEP activities
• Preconstruction and procurement experience preferred
• Ability to travel extensively, with a valid US driver’s license and passport
