The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Technical Manager to join the Walbridge team. In this role, you will act as the technical expert for a specific discipline to ensure all related construction activities are performed in accordance with accepted professional standards. You will work to solve complex technical field-related problems, manage equipment startup, and oversee the commissioning process (V-Start). You’ll assist in implementing the project’s 4-phase quality control plan and monitor field construction of mechanical and/or electrical subcontractors for schedule management and conformance to contract documents.

Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
  • Develop critical path schedule: Develop MEP critical path schedule, collaborate with subcontractors and design team for conflict resolution.
  • Procurement & bid process: Manage equipment procurement, track deliveries, and assist with bidding mechanical and electrical trades.
  • CX and Startup: Manage startup and pretesting of systems, coordinate quality control and third-party commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate Trades & Documentation: Oversee critical path construction, review submittals.
Qualifications

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A 4-year engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in electrical/mechanical disciplines
  • Knowledge of construction technology, equipment, materials, methods
  • Leadership and scheduling capabilities in MEP activities
  • Preconstruction and procurement experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel extensively and accept long-term assignments
  • Valid US driver’s license and passport; ability to travel 70%+
