About this role:

We're growing the team with a rare opportunity to join as Technical Headhunter. This person will receive hands-on training and mentorship from our company’s Founders (CEO Seyka Mejeur; talent entrepreneur & pilot, and CTO/COO Brian Mejeur; ex-SpaceX Engineer) along with the rest of the team.

As a Technical Headhunter with AdAstra, you will partner with our clients to understand their business objectives, build targeted sourcing plans and recruiting strategies, source qualified candidates, build and sustain talent communities and pipelines, screen, interview, and close candidates for our clients.

This position is a full-time, remote work arrangement. Those located in the Portland, OR Metro area will have an opportunity to join for in-person training and meetings, too!

Responsibilities include:

  • Full-cycle recruiting across climate, space, and defense tech industries for startup clients of AdAstra
  • Source, develop and build talent pipelines of primarily passive candidates for AdAstra roles
  • Ensure that all candidates are receiving clear and responsive communication from us wherever they are in the process
  • Develop a strategy for candidate pipeline development and sourcing by utilizing all available tools including Boolean searching on LinkedIn Recruiter, other search channels like Google Scholar, job boards, email & text campaigns, social media, LinkedIn Recruiter and our ATS
  • Architect diverse sourcing strategies, research alternative methods of contacting top talent, and demonstrate a dynamic approach to each search that’s customized to the needs of that client
  • Start to finish ownership of your assigned roles:
  • Lead intake meetings with clients on new roles
  • Create sourcing strategies and consistently source candidates
  • Own all candidate communication and outreach via LinkedIn, email, and more
  • Lead the initial technical and culture fit screening calls (typically 1 hour long)
  • Prepare detailed and thoughtful write-ups and submit candidates to clients
  • Maintain exceptional communication and responsiveness with hiring managers, candidates, and other business leaders / stakeholders involved in the hiring process
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all candidates in both LinkedIn Recruiter and our internal Applicant Tracking System (ATS) in order to track individual candidate progress along with overall search progress
  • Provide updates to clients on the progress of your search - including proactive success management, candidate pipeline summaries, market observations, and outreach data
  • Collaborate with other AdAstra Headhunters to maximize our collective capabilities: share observations, things that are working well, creative tactics, brainstorm solutions, etc.
  • Contribute to company wide initiatives and projects as they arise
  • 2+ years recruiting experience preferred
  • High level of intrinsic motivation and demonstrated ownership in past experiences
  • Interest in aerospace, space, clean technology, and defense tech
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; friendly, tactful, ability to influence others

  • Strong time management skills and ability to consistently follow-through on commitments

  • Interviewing experience; technical and cultural
  • Industry experience in one of the following domains; aerospace, space, defense, clean technology/energy, or another closely related industry
  • Experience acting as a detective to find people or other information online
  • Familiarity with the Google Workspace
  • Big bonus if you have an engineering/technical degree/background
  • Partner with cutting edge hard tech startups, and play an integral role in the talent strategies that will help these companies shape the capabilities of humanity
