Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years directly related experience, or a Master's with 3+ years, or equivalent combination.
• Proficiency with deployment/automation scripting using Ansible and Python; Linux and Windows system administration; patching vulnerabilities.
• Host-based networking and Cisco configurations; adherence to STIGs; relevant certifications like Linux+ and CCNA.

Responsibilities

• Support developers by integrating, troubleshooting, and optimizing system components across test and production environments.
• Perform daily system administration, including configuration, patching, performance optimization, and proactive monitoring.
• Assess user needs and implement upgrades, configuration changes, and enhancements for better functionality.
• Monitor system load, usage trends, and capacity to plan technical refreshes and ensure sustainable performance.
• Install, configure, and maintain mid-range operating systems; lead RHEL updates using Ansible and shell scripting for automation.
• Manage Splunk cluster and health to ensure continuous data flow and data integrity; implement monitoring improvements.
• Install and upgrade Cisco NX-OS and Catalyst devices, VCenter/ESXi, and Horizon client components.
• Administer and expand NetApp LUNs with ISCSI connectivity and storage growth.
• Develop solutions to complex technical challenges, mentoring team members when needed.
• Support operational demands and shifting priorities, including occasional weekend installations.

Technical Field Service Representative

Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for an experienced Technical Field Service Representative (Infrastructure Support) to support a critical 24/7 DoD cyber operations program. This program contributes directly to the execution of DoD's cyber missions. This position involves working on a platform that empowers cyber operators with robust cyber defense and offense capabilities.

*This is an onsite role based in Hanover, MD and requires an active TS/SCI with CI Poly. The position also involves occasional shift work*

What You'll Do:

• Support developers by integrating, troubleshooting, and optimizing system components across test and production environments.
• Perform daily system administration, including configuration, patching, performance optimization, and proactive monitoring to maintain stability and reliability.
• Assess user needs and implement system upgrades, configuration changes, and enhancements that improve functionality and overall user experience.
• Monitor system load, usage trends, and capacity to plan technical refreshes and ensure sustainable performance.
• Install, configure, and maintain mid-range operating systems; lead RHEL updates using Ansible and leverage shell scripting for automation.
• Manage Splunk cluster and indexer health to ensure continuous data flow and data integrity; implement monitoring and automation improvements.
• Install and upgrade Cisco NX-OS and Catalyst devices, as well as VCenter, ESXi, and Horizon client suite components.
• Administer and expand NetApp LUNs, ensuring reliable ISCSI connectivity and storage growth.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges by applying advanced consulting skills and deep technical expertise while mentoring team members when needed.
• Support operational demands and shifting priorities-including occasional weekend installations and last-minute schedule changes-with flexibility and a positive, team-oriented approach.

Education/Experience/Skillset Required:

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of directly related experience or a Master's degree and 3+ years of directly related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with the following:
  • Deployment and automation scripting with Ansible and Python
  • Linux and Windows system administration
  • Patching Windows and Linux vulnerabilities
  • Host-based networking and Cisco configurations
  • Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Linux+ certification or similar certification
• CCNA certification

US Salary Range: $145,000 - $160,000

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
