Job summary

TAIT is seeking a Technical Director II to lead the design and implementation of complex technical systems across the project lifecycle. The role requires steering concepts from design through fabrication and delivery, speaking for the technical vision with vendors, designers, and engineers, and guiding teams on the technical solution that meets the client brief.

The TD II will independently manage several small projects, build relationships with partners, and support senior staff as needed,

Qualifications

4+ years of experience delivering multiple projects.
Technical production competencies including audio, video, lighting, and rigging.
Experience leading technical project teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of CAD programs.

Responsibilities

Provide domain knowledge across technical project elements (audio, video, lighting, control, rigging, mechanical, scenic).
Oversee technical suitability of designs to meet client vision.
Ensure safety standards are followed in design and installation.
Deliver solutions that align with project schedule and budget.
Collaborate with partners to iterate designs and ensure proper processes.
Provide progress updates to clients and internal teams as required.
Identify site-specific requirements and integrate them into the design.
Coordinate with external agencies and partners to ensure compliance and information sharing.
