Job summary

TAIT seeks a Technical Director II to lead the design and implementation of technical systems across live productions. You will shepherd audio, video, lighting, control, rigging, and scenic elements from concept to delivery, collaborating with vendors and clients to realize the creative vision.

The role requires 4+ years of experience, strong CAD skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams while ensuring safety and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years experience and/or formal training, plus demonstrated performance in the production and delivery of multiple projects.
• Functional competencies in technical production, including staging, rigging, show action, audio, lighting, and video production.
• Previous experience leading technical project teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of various CAD programs.

Responsibilities

• Domain knowledge of all technical aspects: audio, video, lighting, control, rigging, mechanical, and scenic elements.
• Technical overview and responsibility for the suitability of the designed system to meet client vision and requirements.
• Ensure safety standards, policies, and procedures are followed in design and installation.
• Deliver technical solutions that match project schedule and budget.
• Work with partners to iterate designs and ensure proper processes.
• Provide updates to the client and internal teams as required.
• Ensure site-specific technical delivery requirements are identified and incorporated.
