Job summary

Gensler in Austin, TX is seeking a Technical Designer to drive project delivery from concept through construction documents. You will collaborate with design directors, project teams, clients, consultants, and vendors to meet objectives and produce compelling graphics and 3D visuals.

You will apply architectural knowledge, comply with building codes, participate in multiple project phases, and mentor junior staff while advancing delivery and process improvements in a fast-paced, in-person

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
  • 0-3 years of related project experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Design Director(s) and project team(s) on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production.
  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions.
  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production.
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings.
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

Your Role

As a Gensler Technical Designer, you will combine creativity and technical knowledge with a focus on project delivery and an understanding of how to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will drive the delivery of a project, collaborate with office and regional technical leaders, and develop delivery and process improvement strategies. What You Will Do

Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited university required

  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
  • A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills

Our annual base salary range has been established based on local markets.
