Job summary

Gensler is seeking a seasoned Technical Designer in Los Angeles to translate architect sketches into 2D/3D models and lead design through construction documentation. You will collaborate with Design Directors, translate concepts into renderings and drawings, and mentor team members while maintaining strong client communication.

The role requires a 10+ year track record, Revit expertise, and a degree in Architecture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • Licensed Architect preferred but not required
  • At least 10 years of related experience, including proven ability to deliver projects from beginning to end
  • Experience interpreting building code requirements in designs, coordination with consultants, and clear client communication during CA
  • Revit proficiency required
  • Proficient in the use of 2D/3D software, including Revit, BIM360, Octane, SketchUp, Lumion, Rhino, V-Ray, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Experience using and applying VR and/or AR as applicable to the architectural design process is a plus
  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes
  • Strong organizations skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • LEED accreditation a plus

As a Gensler Technical Designer you will collaborate with our Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. Salary & Benefits
  • The base salary range will be estimated between $104,000-128,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
  • Notice: At Gensler an unlicensed Architect will have the job title of Technical Designer and operate in this capacity for alignment with internal programs, doing business with clients and compliance with industry and government regulations.
