Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Technical Designer in San Francisco to collaborate with our design team on innovative concepts across all project phases. You will clearly communicate design ideas in 2D and 3D and support research to resolve artistic and technical issues.

You will contribute to the design process from conceptual design through construction documents, coordinating with clients, consultants, and authorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of related project experience.
  • Proficiency in physical modeling, digital modeling, and visualization using Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, and Enscape.
  • Expert use of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices a plus; portfolios ideally include one project with this particular focus.
  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes.
  • LEED accreditation a plus.
  • Demonstrated progress on AXP and/or ARE exams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.

Your Role

As a Gensler Technical Designer, you will collaborate with our design team to develop innovative and creative design solutions throughout all phases of our projects. Your communication skills extend beyond graphics to both verbal and written forms, and your research techniques allow you to quickly solve problems, allowing you to research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. Compensation
  • The base salary will be estimated between $75,000 - $82,000 annually, plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
