Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers through architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise solutions. You will mentor teams, align work with IT standards, and develop code modules and integrated systems.

The role combines leadership with hands-on delivery across projects, collaborating with architects, business users, and the Delivery Manager to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of experience on projects involving SDLC.
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis, defining technical requirements and high level design.
• Experience in RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications in logical designs and software solutions; supports high level design.
• Reviews development or modification of highly complex, enterprise software solutions.
• 50/50 role with design, mentorship, leadership and hands-on delivery of code.
• Develops and validates complex software designs adhering to architecture standards.
• Provides technical direction for development and integration across environments.
• Ensures required requirements, design, and test scripts are documented for enhancements.
• Leads code management and production deployment per IT policies.
• Mentors others and shares knowledge of company methodologies, policies, and controls.
• Offers recommendations on options, risks, costs, and benefits for software solutions.
