Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers through design, development and delivery of enterprise solutions. You will balance hands-on coding with architecture mentorship and collaborate with architects, users and delivery managers to meet business needs.

The role emphasizes strong communication, leadership and problem-solving, with responsibilities spanning design validation, code delivery and technical guidance across multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development; 3 years in database technologies.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specifications; support project lifecycle with leadership input.
• Review development or modification of highly complex, enterprise software solutions.
• Balance design/mentorship with hands-on code delivery (50/50).
• Develop and validate complex software designs, ensuring alignment with architecture standards.
• Mentor others and contribute to technical direction and coding practices.
