Job summary

Heartland Business Systems is seeking a Technical Architect to design, implement, and support network solutions for enterprise clients in the Midwest. You will mentor engineers and lead projects across Cisco, HP/Aruba platforms, focusing on scalable, secure network architectures.

This role requires 5+ years in networking, CCNP or higher, and strong collaboration with PMs to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical related field
• Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent certifications or equivalent work experience
• At least two or more Professional level certifications
• CCNP, CCP-V, VCAP-DCV, MCA
• Experience designing and architecting network based solutions
• Installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba network switching and routing products
• IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS Experience/Best Practices
• Routing Protocols—OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, L2 / L3 Architecture and Design Multicast, QoS
• Maintain an outcome focused mindset
• Have strong prioritization skills
• Always be a team player
• Carry a professional attitude and respectful demeanor

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Practice Leads to create and maintain documents and procedures
• Execute on large projects with Project Managers and Practice Leads on time and on budget
• Provide leadership and guide Engineers to ensure tasks are completed accurately and timely
• Lead Engineers on projects with multiple technologies
• Provide daily project updates and proactive communication on timelines and resources
• Collaborate across business units to deliver a world-class customer experience
• Demonstrate excellent communication in team and customer meetings
• Contribute to product selection, standards, and educate sales teams
• Work in a team atmosphere across regional and virtual practices
• Maintain current vendor/industry certifications and stay updated on new products
• Grow professionally following the Engineering skills matrix
• Meet annual billable hour goals as defined by HBS
