Job summary

Heartland Business Systems is seeking a Technical Architect to design, implement and support network solutions for consulting clients. You will mentor engineers, lead multi-technology projects, and collaborate with Practice Leads to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include directing project teams, maintaining standards, and communicating progress to stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree and multiple professional certifications are expected, with a focus on Cisco/HP networking skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical related field
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent certifications/work experience
• At least two Professional level certifications (eg, CCNP, CCP-V, VCAP-DCV, MCA)
• Experience designing and architecting network-based solutions
• Experience installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba switches and routers
• Understanding IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and L2/L3 design
• Strong prioritization and teamwork skills
• Professional attitude and respectful demeanor

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Practice Leads to create and maintain documents and procedures.
• Lead large projects with PMs to meet time and budget goals.
• Provide leadership and guidance to engineers for timely task completion.
• Serve as Lead Engineer on multi-technology projects.
• Offer daily project updates and proactive cross-team communications.
• Foster collaboration across business units for excellent customer experience.
• Lead customer meetings with clear, professional communication.
• Contribute to product selection, standards, and best practices education for sales teams.
• Maintain certifications and grow skill set per engineering matrix.
• Aim to meet annual billable hour goals set by HBS.
