Job summary

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA seeks a Motorsports Technical Advisor to provide expert technical guidance and diagnostic support for Motorsports products including motorcycles and eBike systems. You will diagnose issues, coordinate repairs, and ensure high customer satisfaction while collaborating with Service, Parts and Sales teams.

The role requires 5+ years as a powersports technician, strong diagnostic and communication skills, and willingness to travel to support dealers and customers.

Qualifications

  • Technical school certification or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a powersports technician.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel as required to support dealer and customer needs.
  • Experience with motorcycles, side-by-side, ATV's, snowmobiles, or similar recreational vehicle service and diagnostics preferred.
  • Experience with dealer management systems and diagnostic software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Resolves product and service issues by identifying root causes, recommending corrective actions, coordinating repairs or adjustments, and following up to ensure successful resolution.
  • Provides technical diagnostic support to dealers via phone, email, and dealer portal for all Motorsports (Motorcycle, RV) and eBike products, including the use of Yamaha diagnostic tools.
  • Collaborates with personnel across Service, Parts, Sales, and other Yamaha departments to gather information and make objective, equitable decisions regarding customer and dealer support matters.
  • Reviews and accurately adjudicate warranty authorizations and claims while maintaining fiscal responsibility and adherence to company policies.
  • Evaluates dealer and customer requests for assistance related to Yamaha products and determines appropriate support actions in accordance with YMUS policies and guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate customer and dealer records by documenting interactions and updating account information in applicable systems.
  • Supports factory quality and engineering initiatives by providing market reports, technical documentation, failed parts analysis, and customer feedback related to product concerns.
  • Provides technical support and consultation to Customer Relations and Dealer Support teams and travels within the field, as needed, to assist dealers and customers.
  • Performs a variety of routine and moderately complex assignments with limited supervision. Exercise independent judgment when negotiating repair costs, authorizing repairs, and determining appropriate customer assistance. Authorized to approve goodwill assistance up to $2,500 in accordance with company policy.

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Motorsports Technical Advisor to join our Motorsports team in Marietta, GA. In this role you will provide technical support to Yamaha dealers and customers for Motorsports (Motorcycle and ROV) products. This role diagnoses and resolves product and service issues, delivers technical guidance, and supports customer satisfaction through timely and effective problem resolution.

What you'll be doing:

What you need to be successful:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel as required to support dealer and customer needs.
