Job summary

PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a Technical Account Manager/Partner (Data) Engineer to join our Partner Engineering team. This client-facing role owns the relationship from scoping through implementation and ongoing support, collaborating with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to solve complex data challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in a technical role involving direct client interaction.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Snowflake, Redshift, and Athena.
• Proficient in Python and data stack (pandas, numpy, polars, pyspark, boto3).
• Deep experience with AWS cloud services including core compute, storage, and analytics tools.
• Experience with large-scale datasets and formats (Parquet, ORC, CSV).
• Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and cloud services (EMR, Lambda, S3, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Agile tools like Jira and Git/GitHub.
• Client-focused mindset with problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Comfortable leading technical discussions, debugging issues, and owning long-term client success.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main technical liaison for clients, ensuring long-term success.
• Translate complex technical concepts into updates for non-technical audiences.
• Work cross-functionally to resolve technical issues and align on requirements.
• Educate clients on platform capabilities, integration best practices, and data governance standards.
• Proactively manage client communication, expectations, and roadmaps.
• Document solutions in Confluence or internal wikis.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions for data pipelines.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Develop in Python using libraries like pandas, numpy, polars, pyspark, and boto3.
• Leverage AWS services including S3, EC2, Redshift, Athena, Glue, EMR, EventBridge, Batch, and CloudWatch.
• Write production-grade SQL for data transformation and analysis.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, and Docker.
• Follow Agile best practices using Jira and contribute to a DevOps culture.
• Troubleshoot data issues across AWS services, data pipelines, and codebases.
