Job summary

PAR Technology Corporation seeks a Technical Account Manager/Partner (Data) Engineer to join our Partner Engineering team. You will own client relationships from scoping to implementation and ongoing support, collaborating with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to solve complex data challenges and translate technical concepts for clients.

You will drive data engineering, ETL design, and AI-enabled documentation efforts, leveraging Python, SQL, and AWS services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
3+ years in a technical role with direct client interaction.
Exceptional communication skills; able to simplify complex topics.
Strong SQL skills; experience with Snowflake/Redshift/Athena.
Proficient in Python and data stack (pandas, numpy, polars, pyspark, boto3).
Deep experience with AWS cloud services (compute, storage, analytics).
Experience with large-scale datasets and diverse formats (Parquet, ORC, CSV).
Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and cloud services (EMR, Lambda, S3, Kubernetes).
Experience with Jira and Git/GitHub and DevOps practices.
Client-focused mindset with problem-solving and detail orientation.
Comfortable leading technical discussions, debugging, and owning client success.

Responsibilities

Act as the main technical liaison for clients, ensuring long-term success and satisfaction.
Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and align on requirements.
Educate clients on platform capabilities, integration best practices, and data governance.
Proactively manage client communication, expectations, and roadmaps.
Document solutions in Confluence or internal wikis.
Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows.
Develop in Python with pandas, numpy, polars, pyspark, and boto3.
Leverage AWS services (S3, EC2, Redshift, Athena, Glue, EMR, etc.).
Write production-grade SQL; manage CI/CD with GitHub, Jenkins, Docker.
Follow Agile best practices using Jira; contribute to a DevOps culture.
Troubleshoot data issues across AWS services, pipelines, and codebases.
