Job summary

Indypl at Pike Branch in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Regular Full-Time Library Clerk to support technology programs and digital literacy for the community. You will assist patrons with job searches, resumes, and online resources, and help people use computers, printers and devices.

The role requires 6 months–1 year of post-high school training, strong computer skills (MS Office, Google apps, mobile devices), and customer-facing experience. Bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of advanced study or training past high school.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer functions (Microsoft Office, Google apps, and iOS/Android devices).
• Experience working with customers face to face.
• Experience assisting others with basic computer and/or software problems.
• Be available to work day, evening, and weekend hours – including Sundays.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develops, assists with, and/or presents technology-themed programming and digital literacy classes across multiple skill levels.
• Supports library patrons on workforce-related projects to assist with job searches, resumes and cover letters, and other computer resources.
• Monitor the Computer Lab and troubleshoot basic computer issues.
• Handle patron questions and offer computer assistance.
• Order supplies as needed and maintain printer/equipment readiness.
• Process and shelve holds and assist with library card applications.
