Job summary

Hawthorne Cat is seeking a Tech Trainee 1 in Waipahu, HI. Under the supervision of skilled technicians, you will perform helper duties in the Service Department and participate in training to advance within the trainee program.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, PC skills, and the ability to certify as a forklift operator within 60 days. You must own hand tools and have about a year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• Must have PC skills.
• Must be forklift certified or able to be certified within 60 days.
• Must own hand tools that are suitable to perform the work noted above.
• At least 1 year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, cleans, and reassembles Caterpillar, allied product machines, and Ag& Turf and industrial products serviced by the Service Department.
• Measures and identifies parts and components for reusability or replacement, ordering new parts as required.
• Performs all requirements found in Caterpillar and other allied lubrication and maintenance and warranty guidelines.
• Attends training classes as directed and obtains passing grades.
• Completes Service Reports in a timely manner and in accordance with HPC standards.
• Travel as required within HPC established territory.
• Operates HPC service vehicles.
• Adheres strictly to HPC safety, housekeeping, credit, and other rules, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains a favorable business relationship with customers, suppliers, and personnel from other HPC departments.
