Job summary

Hawthorne Cat in Waipahu is seeking a Tech 1 to support the Service Manager in repairing, maintaining, and rebuilding equipment. You will work in a shop or field, ensuring safe and efficient work with minimal rework.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, PC skills, and ownership of hand tools. Forklift certification is required or obtainable within 60 days; 5+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Own hand tools suitable for the work.
• At least 5 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots mechanical problems in Caterpillar, allied products, and Ag & Turf equipment serviced by the service department.
• Performs warranty recommendations and prepares reports for warranty service jobs.
• Performs minor welding, fabrication, plumbing, and DC electric repairs.
• Attends training classes as directed and achieves passing grades.
• Reconditions or overhauls major components to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintains safety, housekeeping, and procedural standards.
